You have to feel for Monte Barrett. Not only did he receive a battering from David haye on Saturday but he also managed to trip when getting into the ring. Attempting into jump impressively over the ropes he got his feet tangled up and ended up looking a little silly.....not that I'd say that to his face!

On Saturday Ricky Hatton takes on New Yorker Paulie Malignaggi in Vegas.

Malignaggi is a good fighter and talks a good game too. He's known to be brash and gobby, and he is a showman in the ring. Think an American/Italian version of Prince Nasseem.

Below is a flavour of what Hatton can expect:

At the weekend Vitali Klitschko said that Lennox Lewis was considering making a comeback. This is purely speculation at this point and it has not been confirmed by Lewis.

As a fighter Lewis was probably underrated. He was world champion and defeated some great boxers. Here's a look back at some of his finest moments. Will we be seeing more in the future?

Moment of the weekend: David Haye beats Monte Barrett

David Haye floored Monte Barrett 5 times on his way to a convincing victory on Saturday night.

Haye, who recently moved from Cruiser to Heavyweight now has his eyes on one of the Klitschko brothers and a shot at a world title.

Now, I've never had a tattoo done but I'd imagine the process must smart a bit.

Here's Ricky Hatton getting a Lion's head "needled" onto his arm and he doesn't flinch throughout the whole thing.

Calzaghe faces defining moment

On Saturday night at Madison Square Gardens in New York,  Joe Calzaghe will step into the ring with Roy Jones Jnr for his his biggest, and indeed, his last fight ever.

His career to date shows that Calzaghe has fought 45 times and has never been beaten. At 36, he now heads into retirement with one last hurrah against another legend of the sport.

Jones, for some time, was considered the best pound for pound boxer in the world and at 39, like Calzaghe, his days in boxing seem to be coming to an end. Unlike Calzaghe however, Jones has been beaten but rarely has he been seen as the underdog, as he will be against his Welsh opponent, something that his coach Alton Merkerson thinks could work to his advantage:

Why we all love Ricky Hatton

Reading an article about Ricky Hatton today made me realise why the nation holds him so dear.

Whilst being questioned about the training camp for his latest fight, Hatton took time to thank the Village Hotel in Ashton-Under-Lyne for their support. It is here where he will base himself leading up to the fight and the hotel has had a custom made gym built to aid his preparation. Only Hatton would go out of his way to mention this to the media and I'm sure the publicity was hugely appreciated by the establishment's owners.
