Before the season started everyone was talking about how this would be Darren Bent's year. Defoe and Berbatov had headed off and he was left as the top striker at Spurs.

He scored a hatful in pre-season and he hasn now followed that up with 9 to date in the premiership. Spurs fans will be hoping he can continue his good form today against Blackburn. Let's hope he does better than last night when he missed a sitter playing for England. Here he is scoring a hattrick earlier this season:

Spotlight on: The South African Rugby Team

The Springboks are in town and play England today at Twickenham. There's been a lot of chat from their camp about them being tired at the end of a long season but I think this is all PR.

South Africa v England is always huge and today will be no different. As always they have picked a massively physical side with their engine room of Victor Matfield and Bakkie Botha at the heart of the scrum. If are England are to win, they have to compete at the lineout where Matfield and Botha are the best in the world. In the world cup final South Africa won all 13 of the lineouts and they stole 7 of ours. Ultimately this was the difference.

In particular England need to match up to the presence of Botha. He is the Springbok enforce, a bully on the pitch and the 2 English locks Steve Borthwick and Tom Palmer are going to have to up their agression from last week. Here is a look at Botha doing some typical bullying.

Spotlight on: Schalk Burger

In my opinion, Schalk Burger joins Richie McCaw as the best 2 back row players in the world. He is a mountain of a man and possesses huge phsicality. He's the kind of player who can completely dominate a game and it's no surprise that he is a past winner of the IRB player of the year.

England will find it tough to nul his threat this afternoon at Twickenham and it's no coincidence that with Burger in the opposition, Martin Johnson has opted to play the massively physical James Haskell in the back row.

If England are going to get on top of SA, they'll have to smash Burger as Jerry Collins does in this clip:

Spotlight on: Scott Carson

Poor old Scott Carson had another shocker last night. He was in the middle of a complete mix up with his skipper John Terry and ended up conceding a goal through his legs. Thankfully Terry spared his blushes by scoring late in the game to win the match.

However, a year ago, England were not so lucky. Below is Carson's massive blunder which ultimately cost England a place at the European championship. Painful to watch!

On Saturday Ricky Hatton takes on New Yorker Paulie Malignaggi in Vegas.

Malignaggi is a good fighter and talks a good game too. He's known to be brash and gobby, and he is a showman in the ring. Think an American/Italian version of Prince Nasseem.

Below is a flavour of what Hatton can expect:

Spotlight on: Yuvraj Singh

Yurvraj Singh has been England's biggest tormentor in the first 2 one day internationals in India. Yuvraj scored 118 yesterday following up from his 78 ball 138 in the first game.

He is a fantastic striker of the ball as poor Stuart Broad found out in the World Cup.

One of the players who has received some unlikely headlines this season is Stoke City's Rory Delap.

Delap possesses the longest "throw in" in Football and he provides a threat every time his team are in the final third of the opposition's half.
